Iligan Tourism Triangle: My Military Camp Awesomeness Experience

A friend of mine once said that when they hear of Mindanao, they would often imagine it as a vast jungle or forest where military and rebels come in combat. It must be a very exaggerated view but what the news and media is trying to portray is actually different when you come and visit to the Land of Promise - Mindanao.

So, now, let me bring you into the richness of my experience about the city of waterfalls - ILIGAN CITY, PHILIPPINES!

Our first stop would be at the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, LAD, PA at Barangay Maria Cristina! Since I believe that people usually hear combat, action and to be exaggerated we hear the word "war". So, why not let us take a view of what's really inside the military camp and take a snap tour and begin to understand it better.

Col. Aldred L. Limoso welcomed us and gave us some treats. He gave a briefing on what we can do here and what are there usual routines while inside the camp. Not only this, they are also coordinating with the City tourism office so people can come here to have field trips and view the beauty we are about to discover in this trip.

So, let's welcome ourselves to "Pagari Park" which is a Maranao word for Friend or Friendship where they receive their guests and surely you will feel and experience their very warm welcome!

What I loved the most is their swing type chair with the word Sultan on the top. As defined, Sultan is a noble and respected ruler.Of course, I'm not worthy to be called one - Sultan's are more dignified and honored. :) But at least I got a chance to be seated on that swing?  How does it feel to be on a real seat anyway?

Guess what? We couldn't miss the chance to ride a tank! Indeed, it was my first time so undeniably the smile on my face can't be hidden at all. If you plan on going to Iligan City, you shouldn't miss coming over here and that is of course needs coordination. Who say's seeing machines like this is fearful? It's even more fun!
Can't help but pose with the awestruck of this machine.

Smile! I'm in the front - on top of the tank!

So, the fun is not yet over and we're walking to our next destination.  And they say we're going to ride the tank later? Who wouldn't be so excited?
IBS taking a walk going to our next destination.

And take a look, who says Military Men aren't disciplined? So, before we move further, we should take a photo with our models. So, if your a smoker and  came to tour here, be keen to find these smoking platforms before you actually do your stuffs. Or maybe, you wouldn't dare to smoke at all - coz your friends will WATCH YOU DIE SLOWLY. :) I actually wanted this kind of system available in the city? Who knows, they might want to quit doing it by having an informed choice?

Within the camp is a mini-lagoon with very healthy water lilies. But to tell you, It's more awesome to see it in person - my camera couldn't just capture its beauty and grandeur.

If you ever heard of bombs, then we bumbed into the Disposal team and met the K9 dogs who's ready to work hand in hand with our Awesome, Friedly and Loving Military Members!
It's their office and their cabins.

They don't bite if you wont bite them first! haha
To wrap up our tour, we rode the Tank for about 5 minutes and I could say - ITS AWESOME! :)

Dito siguro nanggaling yung isang truck na army guys na nakasabay ko sa beach. Kakatuwa lang kasi kasama pa nila pati K9 nila sa pag enjoy ng beach :)
